Part of being an artist means that you need to be open to exploring. You need to be open to explore new techniques, new color palettes, and new tools. As an artist, I don't feel my style changes a lot. I like colorful artwork and that's what I basically create all the time. Although I do try to explore new abstract techniques, I always like a colorful palette.
This time, I decided to go with a darker color palette. This abstract digital print, inspired by the recent pictures I took while in Chicago and New York City, is a piece where I go out of my comfort zone. First of all, this artwork is not one where I mix colors to create new hues. I usually don't wait for the acrylic to dry because I like mixing colors. This time I only used three sharp colors without mixing them. It's also out of my comfort zone because this time I drew lines to create buildings. Normally, I just create strokes and blend the colors to create a colorful piece.
It's fun sometimes to get out of my comfort zone and try new techniques. Although I know I can improve, I also know that being an artist is a journey and unless I start creating, I won't improve. Being an artist is a process and I'm so glad I finally started to share this journey with my readers. Click on the link below to get your free digital art print and let me know your thoughts.
